• Full or Long?

It has been another week where news sources love to put headlines out like, “Running is bad for your heart.”  I am not going into all of the medical backgrounds of these stories.  However, one thing I would love to see a study of is runners against those who sit around all day on the sofa eating cheesy puffs.  Enough on that and sorry for that mini rant.

What I do want to focus on is, a full life or a long life.  I am just like anybody else and I would like to live a nice long life, but I want to live a full life more than a long life.  I don’t run just because I want to live a long life.  In fact, I have no idea and frankly don’t care if there is proof that running causes you to live a long life.  I sign up for races and do the train because I want to live a full life.  I do this because I love to, no other reason.

If you don’t love to do something, why do it?  If you hate your job, why do you stay?  I do this because I enjoy it and it helps me live a full life.

It certainly is a choice I think we all can make.  My theory is I would only want to live a long life if it is full.  Why would I want to live long if I could not move around and enjoy life, I have no solid relationships and I have no purpose each and every day.  What type of life is that?

Are there people who have lived a long life that are unsatisfied because it was not full?

Just a question to ponder on a Friday, Full or Long?

    Happy running….
